The feature stops and tells you. Nothing keeps running and quietly bills you more — every metered limit on every plan is enforced in the code, and there is a test asserting it.
Yes. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. Upgrading grants the difference straight away.
By card, from the Account page. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our server. Cancel whenever you like from the same page — it is Stripe’s own billing portal, not a form we could quietly make difficult.
